Within Abbey Road is one of Europe’s premier new media facilities. Offering technological expertise and creative vision across media formats from HD-DVD and Blu-Ray and web, we specialise in developing unique interactive entertainment.
We have considerable experience with the development of interactive and digital video, from early CD-ROM and CDi development through to DVD-Video, HD DVD, Blu Ray, Web and DVD-ROM.
We have a wide range of equipment available for video, audio, graphics and authoring. We write our own software to make the more time-consuming aspects of DVD production more efficient and have close relationships with a number of software developers who have created tools centred around DVD production. MX Entertainment’s multi-angle video package regularly undergoes testing at Abbey Road and Zoo Technologies’ DVD Extra system is also beta-tested by our software engineers and authors.
We have built a strong reputation for producing high-quality discs by maintaining a commitment to quality control (QC) in every aspect of the production process. QC is performed multiple times at every stage, and no one person is allowed to QC an entire project. A range of emulation systems are used (Sonic Informer, Sonic PrePlay, Sony Emulator, Interra Surveyor) and Abbey Road maintain a sample of more than 40 DVD players. In addition, discs are tested on range of Windows and Macintosh computer systems. PCs running older operating systems are maintained specifically for this task. Compatibility testing is completed on the full range of games consoles - Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable, X-Box and X-Box 360.
